Valentine just released a small update to the Valentine 1 Gen2, firmware 4.1025.
This May 2021 update introduces one small fix:
“Enhanced suppression of false alerts when in close proximity to traffic radar.”
When picking up a signal at close range, the V1 Gen2 would sometimes incorrectly report 9 signals present simultaneously, typically as you get close to a police officer.
It sounds like this latest update addresses this specific bug.
There are no other reported changes to performance, filtering, or features.
You can update now using the V1connection app for Android or iOS.

It’s possible that the fix doesn’t work. I was on a local highway that I use 2-3 times a week. Occassionally I will get a Ka warning for a stationary Trooper, or one that may be travelling in the opposite direction. The other day at 2 or 3 different spots on a return trip, my Gen2 alerted first 1 bogie, then 4, then 9. The alerts stopped between each location.. I called Valentine to find out if they were aware of any problem and the said no sense sending it in for repair because the update was suppose to fix the problem and that they have had several reports. So I guess the fix needs a fix.

Good to know, thanks for the feedback!
Here’s an update. Yesterday afternoon I passed the same areas that gave to crazy alerts and received none. But, I the morning I approached an intersection in my town that I use several times a month and received a Ka alert for 1 boggie. Then it showed 2, which then I figured that the signal may also have bounced of of something. Then it jumped to 4 and then 6. Then it just stopped. I am thinking that I may have to try to pay attention to what vehicles are around, and that perhaps there is a new vehicle that may be the source.
Hi Again. Another thing Valentine needs to work on on the Gen2, which is surprising since they were the FIRST to have it. They need to improve the transitioning of the arrows. I have often passed the source of the alert before the arrows change to the side and then eventually to the rear. I compared it to my Gen1 and the Gen 1 was faster.
My V1 G2 started acting a bit crazy right as it hit one year of age. Suddenly I’m now getting 9 false Ka alerts that come on suddenly (often on start up, but also randomly) and stay on for very long periods of time (as in an hour in some cases). I live in a very remote area and have driven these same roads with this same V1 G2 for a year. Its mostly cow pastures and no traffic. The V1 G2 is now useless (in addition to annoying if I try to leave it on and actually get some police radar value out of it. Help! Is anyone else seeing this? I will call the company soon (their website is showing up in chrome as “someone on this site is trying to steal your passwords” (a warning I’ve not ever seen on chrome) this morning when I tried to go onto their site…
Noticed that on a number occasions the ka alert showed a much higher number of alerts even though there appeared to be only one source any thoughts on this??
Just got the mid october 2021 update. Cannot find any info on what changes were made. New firmware 4.1027.
